2020

And just like that, we made it into a brand new year.
A new decade.
Gary and I made the mistake of chatting about what our family dynamics would look like 10 years from now. It left me almost in a puddle. Read: two kids sprung from the nest, the 3rd on his way out, our youngest--a teenager.

But we're not in 2030. And so we're going to revel in this year and this time when we have all four of our kids--ages 3 to 14--under the same roof, sharing a Christmas Star pastry on the first day of 2020. We won't worry about all that growing up and moving on kind of stuff.

Isn't this a beauty?

Gary has made this delicacy 3 times in the past year! For our anniversary, for Conference and then for this holiday at the request of Elliot. We all slept in from a rousing NYE party (which Gary snuck away from to mix up the dough and fridge it over night) but the two of them shaped and baked it that quiet New Years morning. Elliot loves helping in the kitchen and being part of the action. This time they made it with cinnamon sugar instead of nutella. (The nutella is still the winner, we decided.)

Gary has a gift with dough and we all love it!

The rest of the day was chill and fun. We played pickleball at the church (while Claire ran and ran and ran around the gym), I got to pick up the Doutres from the airport and deliver them to Austin's parents home in Herriman. I loved catching up with them and was so grateful the big snowstorm that was suppose to hit hard wasn't bad enough to make driving treacherous.

Later we watched home videos from the past year, worked on our Christmas puzzle and just enjoyed another day off of work and school. This is going to be a great year!
